Welcome to the Home Page of the Special Collections Cataloging Team of the Penn State University Libraries. Our mission is to provide high-quality cataloging records in both the national database OCLC and our local catalog for all formats in the Special Collections Library.
The Special Collections Cataloging Team began life as The Rare Materials Cataloging Team in August 1995 when the Cataloging Department adopted a tentative team structure. The structure was officially sanctioned on April 1, 1996, and we began conducting ourselves as a team. In June 2000, we agreed to accept responsibility for cataloging all formats in all units of the Special Collections Library, and thus evolved into the Special Collections Cataloging Team.
Our Team pages are designed to serve as a cataloging tool, in addition to supplying information about the scope and nature of our Team. We encourage questions and comments about this page or the Team.
