Description: In mid-July 2008, titles classed G-GN were transferred from Paterno-3 to Paterno-2. The catalog records for these titles were updated globally to reflect this change at approximately the same time for all call numbers of the item type "BOOK." Apparently the system cannot make this change for item type "PERIODICAL," so the home locations need to be done by hand, as does editing of the 852c field the MARC holdings record for each serial title.

British Periodicals in the Creative Arts
Description: This is a microfilm collection consisting of 100+ periodical titles on 224 reels. Currently there is a single record in The CAT with added-entry access for each title in the set. Pieces in the set have been classified in differing schemes: they are listed as having the call number NX1.B75, but reels 69-224 actually bear the call number Microfilm F538. To provide better access to microfilm holdings (decisions about weeding and transferring items to the Annex would be easier if the Libraries' holdings were better represented in The CAT), this project entails importing the serial records for each title in the set, reclassifying each title, and then removing the monograph record for the collection. There might be some "filmed-with" work entailed. **Update** Due to the number of titles filmed together, the series call number of NX1.B75 is being used. Otherwise, volumes of the same title could be scattered throughout the drawers under different call numbers.

Recataloging and Reclassing Pa. Series "Bulletin"
Description: This project is a subset of the Google project . The title Bulletin by the Pennsylvania Dept. of Public Instruction needs to be recataloged. Bulletin was originally done as a serial, but it has since been decided the issues would be more useful cataloged separately. Some of the series' title are serial, some are monographs. The Serials Cataloging Team has decided to take responsibility for cataloging the whole set regardless of format in the interests of expediency.

Cataloging Free E-journals in Egyptology and Ancient Near East
Description: The following list of online resources of (free) online journals and (free) digitized/digitalized paper periodicals has been compiled by Michael Tilgner for the Egyptologists' Electronic Forum. The focus is on Egyptological material. Journals that have an electronic edition for subscribers only have not been listed, nor are occasionally free journal articles (only whole issues and series). For material available on the website of a journal, only the main link is given, as there you will find the Tables of Contents and the articles readily accessible. For older journals at the Internet Archive and similar sources, individual links are given if they can only be found separately.
Contacts: Lori Leatherman, Dan Mack
Priority: Low -- Note from Dan: The Department of Classics and Ancient Mediterranean Studies requests that we catalog these important resources. We probably have some either in print or through online subscriptions, or both. This is an extremely low priority project.
