Exporting Macros

"I wrote the macro to end all macros. How do I get it to my co-workers and Grandmom?" -- a cataloger wearing a "macros are good" tee-shirt.

The answer to this is, export it (to a macro file, not a country).

Step 1: Click on the Export Macros button. It looks like this: Export Macros Button

Step 2: The Export Macros Window should now appear. It will contain all the macros in the macro file you currently have open. Click on the macro you want to export. If you want to export more than one macro, hold down the Ctrl key and select as many macros as you want. If you want to export all of them, you can click on the Select All button. When you are done making your selection(s), click on the Save File button.

Step 3: Now a standard Save File dialog box will appear. You may navigate to the desired folder or network drive you want the exported macro(s) sent to. Give the new macro file a name by filling in a name in the File Name text box as shown below.

Step 4: Click on the Save button. If your macros were successfully exported, you should see a small message box as shown below.

Step 5: Click on the OK button to close the message box. Macro Express will leave the Export Macros window open. If you want, you can select more macros to export at this point (Step 2 above). If you don't need to export any more macros, just click on the Exit button.
