WorkFlows Folder Navigation

The Symphony WorkFlows Client can take a bit of time to redraw its wizard windows when you navigate through its tabs. This is especially noticeable on slower computers. When you write macros that need to navigate between them, please place Delay commands between your Text Type commands. A good starting point might be 500 milliseconds, then you can adjust accordingly. If you are writing macros for a group of people that are using different models of computers it is safer to use a higher delay time. The rule of thumb is the longer the delay time, the more computers it will work on.

The WorkFlows shortcut keys you need to use to navigate the folders are the following:

Shift+Page Up: This navigates forward through the tabs (i.e. to the right).

Shift+Page Down: This navigates backward through the tabs (i.e. to the left).

You could simply use a Text Type command that presses <SHIFT><PAGE UP> and in many cases this will work fine. However, sometimes even this is too fast for WorkFlows to handle.

An alternate way of doing this is the following set of commands:

Text Type: <SHIFTD>
Delay 20 Milliseconds
Text Type: <PAGE UP>
Delay 20 Milliseconds
Text Type: <SHIFTU>
Delay 500 Milliseconds

Adjust the Delay commands as desired.

Alternately, you can change your Preferences in the Delays section for Text Type delays, however if you are sharing a macro with many users, they will all have to set their Preferences accordingly. This could be troublesome. It's better to make your macro work in every possible setting so I recommend applying Delay commands to the macro code. This way you can get it to work, no matter what the user's preferences are set to.
