A. Definition

This field contains forms of the title which appear on different parts of the item, alternate titles, and portions of the title proper.

 

B. Source of Information

The source of information for the 246 field is the entire item.

II. Transcription Rules

Justification of Access Points

When 246 indicator one is value 1, a 500 note is automatically generated using the display constant specified by the second indicator or subfield |i. Do not add a 500 note to justify the access point. Create title added entries for the following situations.
