SmartPort Properties

To edit SmartPort Properties, right click on the SmartPort wizard when it is closed, and choose Properties. If you change properties for any wizard while it is open, your new property settings will not carry over to your next WorkFlows session.

Recommended SmartPort Properties for Cataloging are as follows:

Bibliographic Load Options

Choose Replace current record if you need to overwrite incomplete/inadequate order level records
Choose Match and load if no record at all already exists in The CAT for your item

Title control number source: lsig/lsig

Call sources:  LC,050,,N/LC,090,,N

If you work with SUDOC items, replace the call source with SUDOC,086,,N.

If you are importing records and want system generated XX call numbers, you can replace the call source with LC,999,,N.

Library: Set to the Library you work with the most (e.g., UP-PAT).

Format: Choose the format you work with the most (e.g., MARC for books).

Authority Record Load Options

Accept defaults with one exception:

Strip junktags: Click YES.

Hit limits for brief display

Accept defaults with one possible exception:

Formatted full display: Click NO if you want to see MARC tags instead of labels in record displays.
