LST 100/100H is designed to be an introduction to using the fundamental resources in the Penn State Libraries:
Determining one's own information needs and developing efficient strategies to locate information using the Libraries’ system and the Internet will be covered.
Upon completion of this class, students should be able to:
Students will be doing research on a topic for one of their other courses as part of the coursework for the class.
There are no required texts. Students are encouraged to have a binder for course handouts and notes. Materials will be placed on course reserve in the library for students to use.
Grading is based on class attendance, two resources reviews/evaluations, and a final bibliography project.
Students in the Campus Honors or University Scholars programs are encouraged to take this class for honors credit.
