The CAT

You can search The CAT by entering book titles or authors' names. Authors' names should be listed in The CAT according to standard French usage and titles should be entered without the initial article (le, la, les).

Examples:    Malory, Thomas   -OR-   morte d'arthur

To do a subject search, it is important to know the LC subject headings. You can also "Browse" by subject headings.
Examples of useful subject headings:

  • indexes 5,000+ magazines, journals, and newspapers.
ARTstor
  • A database of digital images of works of art and of artifacts of visual culture, contains hundreds of thousands of good-quality images.

The Labyrinth: Resources for Medieval Studies
"The Labyrinth provides free, organized access to electronic resources in medieval studies through a World Wide Web server at Georgetown University. The Labyrinth's easy-to-use menus and links provide connections to databases, services, texts, and images on other servers around the world. Each user will be able to find an Ariadne's thread through the maze of information on the Web."

Arthurian Resources
This site includes essays on the historicity and nature of Arthur in legend. It includes bibliographies and recommendations for further study.

Britannia-History Resources
This website provides a background in British history with timelines, narrative histories and resources on Arthur, the Church and other kings and rulers. Reading lists are available for many topics.

Legends-King Arthur & the Matter of Britain
This is a good overview site that links the user to pertinent primary and secondary source webpages about King Arthur.
