The primary scholarly index in the field. Covers works published since 1906 in English, European and Turkish language sources in all subject areas (Art, History, Music, Politics, etc…)

Historical Abstracts
Use to find scholarship on World History published since 1954 in about 1,000 journals.

Index to Jewish Periodicals
Guide to English-language scholarship in more than 160 journals devoted to Jewish affairs.

International Medieval Bibliography
Use to find articles and other materials dealing with the period from 400 to 1500AD. Focuses on Europe.

ITER; Gateway to the Middle Ages and the Renaissance
Use to find information on topics pertaining to the period 400 to 1700AD.

Periodicals Index Online
Provides table of contents for back volumes of thousands of scholarly journals. Coverage begins with the first issue of a publication. Use to discover earlier scholarship that may not be covered by other databases.

Google Scholar
Scans the contents of a handful of the more than 400 databases the library has. It can be very convenient, but use it as a complement to library searches, not a replacement.

Full-Text Databases

History Cooperative, JSTOR, Project Muse, Periodical Archive Online provide full-text of selected history journals. Search each database to see which titles they include and the years. The Scholarly Databases listed above often contain links to articles in these full-text journals.
