Articles

Current print periodicals are housed at the Music & Media Center (W211 Pattee), with call numbers but organized in alphabetical order.

Sample titles from current periodicals: Cuadernos hispanoamericanos, Correo fronterizo, Hispanic research journal, Letras peninsulares, Revista canadiense de estudios hispánicos.

To locate the above and other current titles, follow this search path:

  • The CAT
  • Advanced Search
  • In Library (Pattee Library & Paterno Library UP)
  • Language: (Spanish)
  • Material Type: (Periodicals)
  • Location: (Arts & Humanities, Pattee, Second Floor – Current Periodicals)

Older print periodicals are bound, in the stacks, and organized as the books in call number order. Some offer an historical view. Do the same search as above, except leave “Location:” blank and use Sort by: (Pub Date (oldest first).

Here’s an unusual example of a bound periodical in the stacks:

Archivo hispalense Sociedad del Archivo Hispalense, Seville. "Revista histórica, literaria y artística" DP302.S56A7 1886, Pattee - Stacks 1.  (CAT record)

For articles from print newspapers or popular magazines not in current periodicals, visit the News and Microforms Library in the basement of West Patee, near MacKinnon’s.

For articles from online newspapers, go to the Libraries’ Home Page. Under “Find Materials by Type”, click on “Newspapers,” then “Newspaper Databases: Try These First,” then “NewsBank – Access World News”or “LexisNexis Academic.”

PressDisplay is also a good resource for Spanish language news articles.

For online newspapers OR magazines, LANIC is useful. Click on Media and Communication, then on Newspapers and Magazines.
