Some databases index only scholarly journals; others index a mixture of newspapers as well as scholarly and popular journals.  The following databases should help you locate appropriate materials.
  • Proquest – This database contains a mix of popular and scholarly resources but presents the results separately so it is easy to tell the difference.  There is also a good amount of fulltext included in the database.
  • CQ Researcher – This resource provides an overview and summary of hot topics related to social and political issues.
  • Opposing Viewpoints Resource Center - This database contains statistics, articles and other resources on controversial topics.  (See results of a search on Human-Environment Interactions.)
  • Sustainability Science Abstracts - This database includes relevant material from 1995 onward.
  • GEOBASE – This database is an index to environmental and geographical literature from 1980 onwards.
