• Equality in Parliament:  A Survey of Men and Women in Parliaments.  Inter-Parliamentary Union, 2008.
  Results of a survey conducted by the IPU between 2006 and 2008. It collates insights from both men and women parliamentarians into the factors that shape decision making. It provides concrete examples of how parliamentarians are working to attain gender equality in politics at the national level, and how parliaments can become more gender-sensitized. Survey respondents also identify several structural changes that could help to promote women’s access to and full participation in parliament.

  Full text of key magazines, newsletters, books, and directories from the National Journal Group. Focused on government, politics, and public policy. Includes general public policy as well as focused publications on health policy and technology policy.  Publications include:

  A weekly news magazine reporting on the activities in the Congress including the status of bills, committee and floor activity, debates, roll-call votes, and congressional-executive branch relations. • Worldwide Political Sciences Abstracts -- the best index to the literature in political science and its complementary fields, including international relations, law, and public administration / policy.
   
• Women's Studies International -- The primary women's studies database.
    
• Index to Legal Periodicals Full Text -- primary index to articles in law journals.
    
• Women in Politics Database -- from the Interparliamentary Union.  A database focused solely on the issues of Women in Poltics.  Unfortunately, it does not work with Penn State's GET IT service.   When you find a citation check the CAT (for books and reports) or use the Citation Linker to see if we have the journal.

• Almanac of American Politics -- The Almanac includes profiles of every member of Congress and governor as well as in-depth and up-to-date narrative profiles of all 50 states and 435 House districts
           
• Lexis/Nexis Congressional
  LexisNexis Congressional provides access to the best web resources for congressional and legislative information. This includes services available only to users with a Penn State Access Account, such as Congressional publications (1789 to the present) as well as other free services that provide similar or related information such as Thomas (1993 to the present) and GPO Access (1993 to the present).

• Refworks -- refworks is a bibliographic management tool that allows you to import citations from databases and manage those citations to format a bibliography.
