Opportunities For Support

Honoring with Books

Honoring with books provides an opportunity to honor family members, friends, PSU students, or professors by making a memorial tribute or marking a special occasion by placing a bookplate inside a newly purchased or newly restored publication in our collection.

Future Fund

Each year, Penn State relies on the generosity of alumni and friends to provide immediate support for University programs. Your gifts help students reach their fullest potential and assist faculty members in their groundbreaking research. Not only can you make a difference in the lives of others, but you can also fulfill your own philanthropic passions.

Named Endowment

Endowed gifts are held by the University in perpetuity. The initial gift is invested, and a portion (typically about 5%) of the fund's market value is awarded annually for the purpose designated by the benefactor. Thus, the benefactor who makes an endowment gift today can feel confident it will continue to support its intended purpose far into the future.

The Knowledge Commons

The Knowledge Commons in Pattee Library focuses on undergraduate students and is a collection of innovative and traditional services and repurposed physical spaces that facilitate information discovery, collaborative learning, and knowledge building. The final plan for the completion of the Knowledge Commons incorporates needs and ideas generated by librarians and staff to include video production areas, podcasting facilities, service kiosks, study spaces, and integrated help desk areas. Construction on the Knowledge Commons has already begun and completion is planned for Spring 2012. With the anticipated cost of $8.5 million, naming opportunities are available in the Knowledge Commons.
