Ongoing and Unrestricted Support: Sustaining a Tradition of Quality
Ongoing and unrestricted support are funds that the donor contributes to a broad base support fund. These discretionary funds are not designated for any particular purpose but are used to accomplish whatever is deemed urgent by the dean. An urgent need is often one that becomes apparent suddenly and, because it may require a quick response or turnaround, discretionary funds permit the Libraries to take advantage of unusual and unique opportunities.
In addition to timely responses, discretionary funds give the Libraries the ability to seed new services, support non-budgeted items, and begin or complete projects that ultimately serve the greater good of the University and its patrons.
