Penn State University Libraries - Riveria Apartments

The Falk families were friends of the Hajjar family and Falk Realty was one of Hajjar's most important clients. He designed three complexes for them, the largest of them being the Riviera Apartments. The somewhat smaller Twin Towers complex is directly across the street.

As with the other complexes, the Riviera features balconies for each unit, positioned to provide a sense of privacy for the residents. While the view for the rear units is not very appealing (next page), they do get a sunny Southern exposure.

In the fifties and early sixties, Falk Realty was one of the leading renters of apartments in the area. Seeming to think that the area was getting overbuilt, they ceased to expand after that time. Their units arguably still are among the most elegant of the town.
