At first glance the Heidrich House I appears quite traditional. However, there are three features which were very uncommon for the period. First note that the design is split level. Second, note the Chicago-style picture window to the right. Finally, note that there is a two-car garage. All of these features would become commonplace following World War II.


The front door is richly patterned with raised diamonds. Being all white, the detail is a bit difficult to discern.
