Web of Science- Advanced Features

Web of Science is an index to the articles and papers of over 10,000 high impact journals and a number of conferences in the science and technology area. You can search by keyword, author, publication, etc. It also lets you view the references in a paper, who has cited the paper, related articles and the journal impact factor.

Step one: Select Databases by Title (A-Z) from the Libraries’ home page

Select databases by title to find the Web of Science

 

Step Two: Go to W and select Web of Science

 

The Web of Sciences can be found in the databases A-Z list, starting with W.

Step Four

Journal Impact Factor When you find an article of particular importance or you are looking for a place to submit a publication, the impact factor is one tool to use. The impact factor is a metric by which you can consider a journal’s impact and importance in a subject’s research.

You can also look at the impact factor for a number of journals in a broad category

From the tab labeled additional resources, select Journal Citation Reports

Step Six: Select the subject category

You can select the subject category in the advanced search of  the Web of Science

Then select the subject category of interest.

A listing of the top journals as determined by WoS in alphabetical order. You can change the order by any of the column headers.

Web of Science will give a list of the top journals in alpabetical order.
