CIA World Factbook – Map of Africa. This is a good source of statistics and information about specific countries as well - choose a country from the drop-down box above the map.
Encyclopedia Britannica - This is an online encyclopedia that includes many entries about Africa and its countries. You must enter your PSU username and password when prompted for full access.
Columbia Gazetteer - This is a library database of information including the geography, population, economy, and history of countries and regions of the world. You must enter your PSU username and password when prompted for full access.
Debt, AIDS, Trade, Africa: DATA.org - "DATA aims to raise awareness about, and spark response to the crises swamping Africa: unpayable Debts, uncontrolled spread of AIDS, and unfair Trade rules which keep Africans poor." This site contains a wealth of information including news, statistics, and overviews of current social problems.
