Overview of South Asia
The U.S. Department of State lists the following countries as part of South Asia:
Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka
South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) held a summit in New Delhi, India on April 3-4, 2007. Participants where Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Republic of India, Republic of Maldives, Nepal, Islamic Republic of Pakistan, and Sri Lanka.
