Lisa – have received report from OCLC Research on overlap and uniqueness between our holdings and HAITHI Trust; will be sharing results; only 149,000 titles overlap (50,000 are government documents)
Lisa went to CIC collection development meeting; items discussed included setting aside funding for discussions with faculty and difficulties with sharing holding records of shared print repository. Lisa joining shared print repository policy group (public services group)

  2. RCR Collection Group / Collection Allocation Team meeting notes

Notes shared with agenda. There was a question about funds for emerging needs/fields – used to be “hot topics” fund. Also discussed was the need for more collaboration between subject librarians at UP and campuses as we implement one university, one library. Next steps? This meeting was to get people to start talking; planning next steps will be discussed at next C.A.T. meeting. Expect to bring recommendations back to CSAG. All C.A.T. materials are on campus wiki space (University Libraries space). C.A.T. will also be doing some benchmarking.

  3. Draft Agenda Collections Forum on July 25

Agenda was routed with CSAG meeting agenda. The roll out for assessment program plus Greg talking about the allocation team is on the program. One focus will be how subject categories are divided. Draft of discipline-specific studies manual to go out next week.

Tim gave update on Special Collection review. Currently they are looking at modern and trade imprint collecting to see what is appropriate for Special Collections. Hope to have a report ready in early fall.

  4. Other items:
Mike F. to talk to Senate Library committee about open access initiatives.

Lisa is also looking at communications gaps between groups, such as RCR collections group and CSAG. She will be adding a RCR collections group member to CSAG.
