Scholarship Committee PR Process

Aim to distribute all materials mid to late February and a reminder in early April.

  1. PRaM produces the items that follow. The Scholarship Committee takes care of all distribution, including University Park. All printed materials are given to committee chair by February 15.
    —table tents (5 each for campuses (60) and UP locations (90) = 150)
    —flyers—for campuses and UP plus include Financial Aid Office in the Shields Building, and one for Sparks, the College of Liberal Arts building (200 copies).
    Distribution to:
    22 locations Architecture and Landscape Architecture, Arts and Humanities, Business, Earth and Mineral Sciences, Education and Behavioral Sciences, Engineering, Gateway, Life Sciences, Maps, News and Microforms, Physical and Mathematical Sciences, and Social Sciences, Course Reserves Services, Access Services, Special Collections, Preservation, Technical Services--18 total), plus Access Services, Special Collections, Preservation, and Technical Services to attract the students working in each of those areas. 
  2. PRaM creates a press release and sends to the Newswires (Parent, Student, F/S), Collegian, and the CDT and adds to Interview.
  3. PRaM creates plasma, image for DAM (load to all campuses).
  4. PRaM pitches to Collegian for a story—include name and contact information for current year's winners.
  5. PRaM two ads in Collegian in February.
  6. Committee to do updates to Web and application.
  7. Emails targeting students or faculty who work with students—See text that follows. Committee develops list and sends out. Library student employees, lists of students from library classes, and additional groups outside the list of students working in the Libraries (such as the IST college and to financial aid advisors to pass on).

The scholarships include the Adma Hammam Shibley Memorial Scholarship in Library Science, the Martha Conner Memorial Award, and the Ava Faltz-Miller Memorial Scholarship. As information specialists, today's librarians use a variety of resources, including the latest technologies, to inspire learning.

For FACULTY

Do you have students who would like to combine an interest in a favorite subject area with a desire to work with people?
