The University Park Library Employees Association (UPLEA) provides opportunities that encourage collegiality and a sense of community throughout the University Park Libraries.
Many organizations have benefitted from UPLEA service-related activities: local food drives, Toys for Tots, Red Cross blood drives, House of Care, Pets Come First, Adopt-a-Highway clean-up, etc. UPLEA has also collected children's books and supplies for the Philippines and, supplies for Haiti earthquake victims.
Additionally, UPLEA has sponsored social and recreational activities such as UPLEA's Birthday Party Celebration, a cookbook fundraiser, and a Summer Salad Bar Luau.
Everyone employed on behalf of The Pennsylvania State University Libraries, including faculty, staff (full and part-time, exempt, non-exempt and bargaining unit), students, and Digital Library Technologies staff is considered a member of this organization — participation in University Park Libraries Employee Association-sponsored events is voluntary.
