Staff Directory

The Staff Input section is comprised of two steps: listing accomplishments and providing a self-assessment. The following will help you to effectively complete both sections of the Staff Input.

Accomplishments

This step of the Staff Input allows you the opportunity to give input for consideration in your performance review. In this section, you can highlight significant accomplishments, specific ways in which you exceeded performance expectations, and professional development activities completed during the current review period.

Self-Assessment

This step is designed to help you summarize your work-related strengths, needs, interests, and goals. This will serve as your individualized foundation for your Development Action Plan. This step should be completed just before your annual performance review.

When completing the self-assessment, consider the following information:

  • Your personal career goals.
  • Current and future job challenges.
  • Your area's strategic plan and/or organizational goals.

By completing the self-assessment section, you will clarify opportunities for development related to your current job responsibilities, future responsibilities, strengths and interests, and other ways you may want to contribute to the organization.

To assist in identifying possible ways to contribute to the organization, consider the suggestions listed below:

  • Improve work process(es) in your area.
  • Join a Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) Team.
  • Serve on a committee or task force.
  • Contribute to the achievement of your area's strategic plan.
  • Improve relations with customers, clients, or other areas of the University.
  • Train and/or support co-workers in areas where you have special expertise.
  • Mentor an inexperienced colleague.
  • Assist other workers during “peak times”.
  • Volunteer for job rotation and/or a temporary fill-in assignment.
  • Develop a skill that is essential to the achievement of your unit's goals.
