Pattee/Paterno Library
- The Reserve Reading Room has three calculators (two scientific calculators and one graphing), that circulate to patrons to use inside and outside of the libraries for up to 24 hours.
- The Life Sciences Library, 401 Paterno Library, has two basic calculators and one scientific calculator for in-library use only.
- The Business Library, 301 Paterno Library, has one financial calculator available for in-library use only.
Physical and Mathematical Sciences Library
- The Physical and Mathematical Sciences Library, 201 Davey Lab, also have basic function calculators for patron use.
Available in the Music and Media Center (Pattee Library, 2nd Floor, West):
- Cassette players are available for in-library use
- CD players are available for in-library use
- DVD players that can play discs from all regions

There are assorted office supplies (paper clips, pencils, rulers, scissors, tape, etc.) at or near most public service desks.
Paper cutters are available in these locations:

- Social Sciences Library, 201 Paterno Library
- Life Sciences Library, 401 Paterno Library

Faculty may also contact the Faculty Multimedia Center (FMC) located in 206 Pollock Building about using sound equipment..
Most service desks in the Libraries have staplers available for patron use. In addition, the Gateway Commons has a long-reach stapler for centerfold stapling and a heavy duty stapler that accommodates up to 160 pages.

Transparency sheets are available in the Music and Media Center, 202 Pattee Library, west. Patrons needing to make transparencies can ask the desk attendant for assistance in loading the sheets into any of the copiers (color or black/white) located in the MMC. The Maps Library, 1 Paterno Library, also has a color photocopier that can produce transparencies.
The Libraries also has an interactive communication system called Interpretype (ITY). ITY helps connect a non-signing hearing person to a deaf, hearing impaired, or speech impaired user, by using two small keyboards with screens that are connected to each other.
If you need to use the ITY and would like help in learning how to operate it, contact the Coordinator of Library Services for Persons with Disabilities, Susan Hayya at 814-865-0284.
The Gateway Commons has a typewriter available for public use.
Kinko's and Schlow Library also have typewriters.
There is also a typewriter available for public use in the Cultural Room in the HUB.
Pay phones are located in the Paterno Library 1st floor lobby by the East Welcome Desk (sit-down height).
Campus/local courtesy telephone is located in Paterno Library, 5th floor.
