As part of the University-wide effort to consolidate services, the University Libraries mailserver is being phased out. This means that all personal and global "group" email addresses that use the @psulias.psu.edu email domain will be decommissioned. This is a phased approach with individual email addresses ceasing as the last phase.
Effective June 16, 2011
University Libraries Group or, global mail list addresses will be decommissioned and will be replaced with PSU listserv lists.
Most replacement listserv names will replicate the core of the original list name with the addition of the prefix "UL-" and replace any underscores in the name with hyphens. Some exceptions to these renaming rules exist, and SOME previously used global addresses have been eliminated. All new listserv addresses use the mail host @lists.psu.edu instead of @psulias.psu.edu.
Example:
Original group email address: Sample_List@psulias.psu.edu
Becomes...
New listserv address:
UL-Sample-List@lists.psu.edu
If you have any questions or problems reaching Libraries faculty or staff through individual email accounts or global accounts, please reach out to your normal Libraries contacts to determine how this change may affect your specific communications that were formerly conducted through the soon-to-be-obsolete @psulias.psu.edu email domain.
Please see the Library Directory for individual and department contact information or use the link to "Please direct questions to Ask!" at the bottom of this page.
University Libraries' Faculty and Staff can log into the ULL website to determine the name of the appropriate replacement list. The ULL website requires authentication with credentials proving the user is a member of the University Libraries' Faculty or Staff. Further documentation is available on the Email Migration Intranet page (staff only) and the Conversion or Decommissioning of shared mailboxes and mailserv hosted lists page (staff only).
