Librarians at Penn State have full faculty status.  Successful candidates will be expected to be active in research, scholarship and service as faculty members at Penn State.  Salary and rank are commensurate with experience.  Salaries are based upon experience, education, and position responsibilities.  Excellent fringe benefits include liberal vacation, excellent health/medical insurance, State or TIAA/CREF retirement options, and educational privileges.

Penn State University Libraries hold membership in ARL, OCLC, CIC, CRL, and the Digital Library Federation.  Collections exceed five million volumes.  The University Libraries are located at University Park and at each of the other 23 Penn State Campuses throughout the commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
