Collections

 

General: This collection begins in the northwest corner of the library. Items with a pink label on the spine have additional A/V material that may be picked up at the Circulation Desk. 

Reference:  Reference materials begin in the east wing of the library and are a great place to start your research. They can help you explore the background and issues surrounding a topic. Books in the reference collection are for use in the library only and may not be checked out.

Leisure: This collection consists of popular fiction and non-fiction titles and is currently located in the west wing of the library.  Recommendations for this collection can be submitted to Dennis Phillips, djp3@psu.edu.

College/Careers:  This collection can be found in the southwest corner of the library and consists of items helpful in choosing a college, a major or a future career.  In addition, you'll find resources helpful in preparing for an interview, creating a resume or studying for a variety of graduate school examinations.

Media: This collection is located in the southwest corner of the library and contains audio and video instructional materials as well as music CDs and current and classic videos in both VHS and DVD formats. Materials in this collection circulate for one week.

Periodicals: Current issues of journals, magazines and newspapers are located on display shelves in the center of the library. The most recent issue does not circulate but older issues may be borrowed for 1 week. Back issues are stored on the shelf directly beneath the title on display.

Juvenile: This collection is housed in the east wing of the library and contains young adult fiction and non-fiction. 

Oversize: Materials in the collection are located in the column shelves to the right of the Reference Office.
