Penn State Extension Service provides informatiojn on pea culture and varieties for the home gardener and bedding plant grower. 

This Fact Sheet provides pea and snap beans gardening information about types of peas and beans, planting requirements, fertilization, cultural practices, and harvest and handling. 

Horticulture & Home Pest News describes the characteristics of pea varieties (garden, snow, and snap pea). 

Edible-podded pea is called snow pea, sugar pea, and Chinese pea in Hawaii. This site describes varieties, preparing the soil, fertilizer application, planting, irrigation, pest management, and harvest information for this type of pea gardening.
