Dr. vonMatthiessen will be relaying stories from her interesting career that began with a masters in Molecular Genetics and a stint in the Peace Corps in Western Samoa. She then attended veterinary school and became a top notch equine surgeon and chief of staff at Tufts Large Animal Hospital. For her 50th birthday, she climbed Mount Kilimanjaro and then decided to pursue a career as a human doctor. She just retired from daily practice as the only internist in Gunnison, CO. Her story is one from which students with different career interests are likely to gain some good advice. Come listen to this dynamic speaker and participate in a great discussion!
