Library Learning Services coordinates activities such as course-related instruction, the use of instructional classrooms, research seminars, library tours, and instructional design within the Libraries. LLS also coordinates an annual Open House and a variety of outreach programs to introduce students, faculty and staff, as well as community groups, to the Libraries' University Park facilities — including the Library Research Basics as well as citations tools seminars. In addition, LLS offers an individually-tailored research consulting service to guide students through the research process.
Library Learning services also maintains the Leisure Reading collection, located near the Central Pattee entrance.
The mission of Penn State University Library Learning Services is to advocate for undergraduate students by inspiring learning through: leadership in information literacy; design and delivery of instructional programs and materials; and innovation in emerging and instructional technologies.
