April 29: Presentation on JSTOR database

The University Libraries will hold a presentation on the scholarly journal database JSTOR, on Wednesday, April 29, at 3 p.m., in Foster Auditorium, 101 Pattee Library. JSTOR is an important resource available to Penn State researchers, offering instant access to 30 million pages from more than 900 journals, in dozens of disciplines. As Arts and Humanities Librarian Henry Pisciotta notes, "The environment for scholarly publishing is changing rapidly and JSTOR, a nonprofit organization with a mission to create and maintain an archive of important scholarly journals, has taken a significant role in the new world of publishing."

"JSTOR: Trust, Value, Partnership" will be presented by two representatives from the organization: Jason E. Phillips, associate director, library relations, and Heidi McGregor, director of marketing and communications. They will describe Penn State's use of this resource as well as new initiatives and long range plans for JSTOR. For more information, contact Henry Pisciotta: 814-865-6778/ hap10@psu.edu
