February 26: Out in the Classroom, a panel discussion

“Out in the Classroom,” a panel and audience discussion facilitated by Bank Street educator and gay writer and activist, Jonathan Silin, will be held on Thursday, February 26, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in Foster Auditorium, 101 Pattee Library. Dr. Silin is a skilled facilitator of discussions about Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) issues for diverse audiences. The aim is to provide a safe and respectful venue to consider and discuss the ethics, responsibilities, politics, hopes and concerns of LGBT faculty, staff, students and parents. In addition, the panelists—who are all personally or professionally involved in LGBT issues in local schools—will also focus on how to create an inclusive and welcoming school environment.
