Beilstein and Gmelin

Beilstein (organic chemistry) and Gmelin (inorganic and organometallic chemistry) are two large handbook series that began publication in Germany in the late 1700s. The online versions are in English and provide a wealth of properties data. Beilstein also has reaction data as well.

These are client-based databases, and versions are available for Penn State Mac and PC users. In order to access them, you must install the client Commander software on your computer. To download Commander, please contact Nan Butkovich at njb2@psu.edu or by phone at 814-865-3716.

If you are not affiliated with Penn State, you can go to the publisher's website to obtain information about subscribing to these databases.
