The library is dedicated to Frederick M. Ciletti, a former assistant director and associate professor of English at the Penn State Schuylkill Campus. He also served as Dean of Student Affairs, Dean of the Faculty and Assistant Director of Resident Instruction.
In 1969, Ciletti accepted a position as the Director of Commonwealth Relations in the Office of the Vice President for Public Affairs at University Park.
Fred was a person with a positive attitude who fondly remembered his time spent in Schuylkill County. He lobbied long and hard for the release of state funds that were essential to the construction of the Schuylkill library. The dedication of the library to his memory was held in April of 1995.
The building has three levels. The top two levels house the library, and the bottom level houses the Learning Center.
