Bureau of Navigation (1903-1932)
The Bureau of Navigation was created by act of July 5, 1884 (23 Stat. 118), as special service under the Department of the Treasury. Transferred to the Department of Commerce and Labor by act of Feb. 4, 1903 (32 Stat. 825). Consolidated with Bureau of Navigation and Steamboat Inspection by act of June 30, 1932 (47 Stat. 415).
