National Weather Service (1970- )
The National Weather Service (15 U.S.C. Chapter 9) was established within the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration of the Department of Commerce by Department Organization Order 25-5A on October 9, 1970. Functions of the Weather Bureau (C 30) were transferred to the National Weather Service.
