Administrative Policies of Penn State University

Policy AD01 POLICIES AND PROCEDURES FOR USE OF UNIVERSITY AUDITORIUMS

Covers University's policy with respect to the scheduling and use of Eisenhower Auditorium, Schwab Auditorium, Recreation Building and the Bryce Jordan Center. All are available for scheduling based on availability, suitability of event, and events that regularly occur in all facilities.


Policy AD07 USE OF UNIVERSITY NAME, SYMBOLS AND/OR GRAPHIC DEVICES

Allowable use of University names, symbols and registered graphic devices. Any person or organization outside the University must be approved by the Office of the Senior Vice President for Finance and Business/Treasurer, which has delegated this responsibility to the University Licensing Committee.


Policy AD08 PURCHASE OF ADVERTISING

Purchase of necessary commercial media and messages by the University for official University publications and electronic communications. All advertising is dictated by the Office of University Relations with the exception of “help wanted” advertising.


Policy AD25 AUDIO/VISUAL PRODUCTIONS FOR PUBLIC RELATIONS AND INFORMATION PURPOSES

This policy is intended to ensure that all audio/visual productions contribute positively to the University's image; prevent duplication of materials already in existence; and meet high production standards in the most cost-effective manner.


Policy AD26 SALE OF FOOD AND BEVERAGES AT UNIVERSITY LOCATIONS

The intent of the policy is to ensure that there is no direct conflict with ongoing auxiliary enterprise operations or with related interests of the University, or with the contractual arrangements the University has entered into with commercial companies for the provision of soft drink beverages and vended products; and at the same time fulfill the food and beverage requirements of University departments, student organizations, faculty, staff, students and guests.


Policy AD27 COMMERCIAL SALES ACTIVITIES AT UNIVERSITY LOCATIONS

University responsibilities and limitations in regards to commercial sales activities at all University locations. Policy does not apply to the Nittany Lion Inn, Penn Stater Conference Center Hotel, Beaver Stadium, Recreation Hall, or the Bryce Jordan Center. The use of University facilities and/or property for commercial sales activities by individuals or non-University organizations is prohibited.


Policy AD52 LINKS TO OR FROM PENN STATE WEB PAGES

Unless authorized by the Executive Director of University Relations no company or organization may place a link on its site to any Penn State web page. Links from government and educational (e.g., other university) web pages are permitted.


Policy AD54 WEB PAGE DESIGN AND IMAGE

All publicly accessible Web pages presenting official University information must adhere to specific requirements. This includes all pages containing information sanctioned by the University and directly related to University business or academic activities.


Policy AD61 UNIVERSITY COMMUNICATIONS THROUGH ADVERTISING, PUBLICATIONS AND MEDIA RELATIONS

All external communications activities of the University will be coordinated through, and approved by, the Office of University Relations.


Policy AD62 SCHEDULING AND USE OF GENERAL PURPOSE CLASSROOM

With the exception of bottled water, all food and drink consumption is prohibited in General Purpose Classrooms (GPC's) at University Park.

The Mann Assembly Room is designed to serve multiple purposes. 


Guideline UL-ADG03 USE OF FOSTER AUDITORIUM (Pattee Library) (Room Capacity: 130)   (Staff Only)

The Foster Auditorium was designed foremost as a library instruction facility for large classes.   


Policy UL-ADG05 SIGNAGE (University Park)  (Staff Only)

Explains standard language and format designating library services and functional locations.

Department of University Publications: Visual & Editorial Standards
All major image publications, including all student recruitment and fund raising publications, must be designed and produced by the Department of University Publications unless the Department decides it cannot meet the requestingstandard language and format designating library services and functional locations.
