• Access all Gale databases including: Gale Virtual Reference Library, Opposing Viewpoints, Contemporary Authors, Global Issues in Context, and more.

The Web Tools & Discoverability Team has developed a Computer Availability widget that can be added to library webpages. The widget shows in real time how many computers are available in your library/area. Check out these pages to see examples of the widget:

Business Library
Earth and Mineral Sciences Library
Fayette Campus Library 

If you are interested in adding the widget to your page, read the documentation about the widget. Contact the CMS development team (UL-CMS-DEV@lists.psu.edu) with questions about adding the widget to your site.

As a digital repository for the nation’s great research libraries, HathiTrust brings together the immense collections of partner institutions. 

HathiTrust was conceived as a collaboration of the thirteen universities of the Committee on Institutional Cooperation and the University of California system to establish a repository for these universities to archive and share their digitized collections.

The Library Toolbar is a customizable browser plugin for Firefox that provides direct access to Penn State's library resources.

If you'd like to try the toolbar in Chrome, follow these steps to install the plugin:

1. Enter the URL: http://libx.org/releases/gc/install.php?edition=19291C4F in your chrome browser (you may need to choose "Continue" if the security warning pops up in the lower left)
2. In the popup window, choose to Install LibX for Google Chrome
3. Click on the Libx icon in Chrome (near the wrench icon ) - start typing Penn State and it should find our edition, then select it and load it
4. You should now see the PSU icon next to the wrench icon
5. Click the PSU icon when you want to search the Cat directly from Chrome
