Music Library
The entire music library used by Fred Waring and the Pennsylvanians (1917-1984), consisting of 6500 titles, includes scores and instrumental/choral parts. Many arrangements are available for leasing. There is also a large collection of published sheet music.
Recordings
More than 10,000 recordings on disc, wire, tape, kinescopes, and videotape. The recordings cover every radio and television program (1933-1960), commercially released recordings (1923-1979), concert recordings of Fred Waring Music Workshop sessions and concerts, and other miscellaneous performances, appearances, and interviews. Also, complete program listings, production notes, and scripts are available for most broadcasts.
Scrapbooks
Sixty-six books with 7600 pages of clippings (1922-1984) encompassing the entire career of Fred Waring and the Pennsylvanians.
Photographs
Over thirty thousand photographs and slides (1919-1984) consisting of posed and candid pictures of Fred Waring, his family and activities, members of the Pennsylvanians and others associated with the organization, special events and celebrities.
Cartoons
Fred Waring hosted members of the National Cartoonist Society at his golf resort Shawnee Inn for over 25 years and as a result the collection contains over 650 pieces of original cartoon art by leading cartoonists from 1940s-1980s. We have art by many well-known cartoonists including Rube Goldberg, Milton Caniff, Mort Walker, Chester Gould, Walt Kelly, Hal Foster, Bil Keane, Chic Young,
Business and Personal Correspondence
Business records and correspondence of the musical organization, Fred Waring and the Pennsylvanians (1922-1984) as well as personal correspondence between Fred Waring and family, friends, and celebrities.
Historical Memorabilia
Awards, musical instruments, costumes, stage props, Waring blendors, golf paraphernalia, and personal items.
