The University Libraries share in the Penn State World Campus mission to make sure you have access to a quality academic experience online.

As a student in a World Campus and Penn State Online course you have access to the 7^th largest research library in North America, vested in delivering world-class library resources and services directly to you. The University Libraries’ collection is nationally recognized among academic research libraries with more than 500 online research databases, over 100,000 scholarly journals (many available online and in full text), and 200,000 electronic books, and access to over 5,000,000 bound volumes through our online catalog and document delivery platforms. Additionally, our consortia agreements and interlibrary loan services provide you with extended access to research collections across the country and around the world. Penn State’s Librarians and staff are committed to student success and ensuring that you have the resources and professional support you need to make your educational endeavors successful and rewarding.

Driven by the concept of “Your Library…A World Library,” Librarians are a virtual presence in every online course. Librarians consult with online Teaching Faculty and Instructional Designers to determine best practices to incorporate the library into the digital course environment. But we don’t stop there! Librarians with expertise in disciplines such as Business, the Social Sciences, Nursing, Medicine, Agriculture, Engineering, Earth and Mineral Sciences, maps, public research data and government information are developing tutorials and subject specific research, or course guides, to assist you in navigating through your research and curriculum.

We understand the complexities of learning online and offer outstanding resources to help you achieve your goals anytime, anywhere. At times and locations that are convenient for you, Librarians are available to provide you with personal ready reference service and instructional support via live chat, email, and phone.
