Resources

The Nesbitt Library has over 35,000 books, more than 100 journal and newspaper subscriptions, and a DVD/VHS collection to support your studies, as well as leisure materials. In addition, students, faculty and staff have access to the over 4.5 million library materials owned by all 36 Penn State libraries. The CAT is the online catalog of the materials in the Penn State University Libraries' collections. LionSearch allows you to search our material collections and our online content in databases.

 

Computing

The library has fourteen stations for searching online catalogs and databases that are connected to the Internet for faculty, staff and students.The workstations are equipped with Microsoft Office software and will print. However, library staff will ask you to stop if you print too much. We also have an enhanced station connected to a scanner, complete with imaging software like Adobe Photoshop and others. There is one Visitor Station that non PSU members can access the Libraries' webpages, but cannont print or surf the internet.

There are four laptops and two iPads available for check out at the Circulation Desk.

 

Instruction Lab

Contains 24 computers for class instruction and a “smart” podium with a computer from which the instructor can utilize to project images or text to the overhead projector that can be viewed on a large screen at the front of the room.

 

Copying/Printing

A photocopy machine is available in the library. Copies are ten cents and the machine takes nickels, dimes, quarters, and one dollar bills. Printing from the library computers is free for Penn State students, staff, and faculty.
