Welcome!

What is National History Day (NHD)?

It is a highly regarded academic program for elementary and secondary school students. Please see the National History Day website for more information.  Every year, Penn State Wilkes-Barre is host to the Northeast PA regional contest. The winners from this contest then compete at the state level.

For more information and resources please visit the Penn State Wilkes-Barre National History Day website

The Penn State Wilkes-Barre campus is the site of the local contest. This page only contains a few of the many different National History Day resources available.

Researching for Online Historical Resources

Unsure of what you topic should be? Check out the National History Day website for this year's topic and the NHD Research Central.

Also, please keep in mind that the list from the NHD Research Central is not exhaustive.  There are many places that have free online resources for you to use. And don't forget to see what your local library, historical center, or archive has access to-- not everything is online!
