If you can not find the material (books, journal articles, CDs, or videos) you need in our library, then we can request the material from other locations through interlibrary loan. The cost is FREE.
Interlibrary Loan FAQs:
How long does it take?
Usually we get the materials you need from other Penn State Libraries. Borrowing from other Penn State Libraries takes anywhere from 3 days to 10 days. If Penn State does not have the book or article you need we will try to get what you need from other libraries around the state or country. To get material from non-Penn State libraries takes 10-21 days at least (it may take even longer in some cases).
Who can use Interlibrary Loan?
Any Penn State Shenango faculty, staff, or student can order any materials. Local residents can request books from other Penn State Libraries.
How do I request a book?
There are two ways to request a book:
1. If you need a book from a Penn State Library use the "I Want It" button in the CAT. This is the fastest way to get books. You should always check the CAT to see if Penn State owns the book you need. Go to the CAT
2. If the book is not owned by Penn State. Complete an "Interlibrary Loan Book Request" form found at the circulation desk in the library. OR submit an "On-line Book Request Form."
How do I order a journal or magazine article?
There are two ways to request an article:
1. Complete a "Photo Duplication Request" form located at the circulation desk in the library.
2. Submit an electronic request via the "Article Request Form"
