Mellon Bank Group Study use policy
The Mellon Bank Group Study Room is maintained by the Social Sciences Library as a group study facility for Penn State students and faculty. The room is available during regular library operating hours.
Some information you'll need to know about using this room:
- We are happy to accept reservations by telephone at 865-4861 or in person at the Social Sciences Library Reference Desk at 201 Paterno Library.
- Groups of 3 or more have priority use of the Group Study.
- Please be prepared to provide your name and email address as well as the names of the other people in your group when you make your reservation.
As a courtesy to other groups interested in using this room, each GROUP may sign up for a MAXIMUM of 3 hours per day, once per week.
- Reservations may not be made more than 1 week in advance.
- Reservations will be held until 15 minutes past the sign-in time requested. The room is then available for walk-in groups.
- Walk-in groups are permitted to use the room when it is not reserved. Please sign in at the Social Sciences Reference Desk.
We expect that all people using the Mellon Bank Group Study will honor the Libraries' Code of Conduct regarding beverages and food.
Please be considerate of your colleagues who will be using the Group Study after you. Return any library materials used, clean the white board if used, and pick up stray papers after using the group study room.
Be aware of your belongings. The Library is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
