Country Foreign Policy Statements
You can locate statements of a country's foreign policy perspective in official government sources, news sources, and the UN debates.
- The Libraries have a print collection of press materials from the embassies of some countries, such as Germany, France, Australia. It is located in the International Documents collection, 2nd Floor Paterno Library Stacks. This collection is arranged by call number. Search the CAT to find the call number for these titles.
- The Web is also an excellent source for general foreign policy information from a country. A country's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the President's/Prime Minister's Web site, the country agency most closely tied to your topic (e.g. Energy Departments for energy issues), and embassy pages are good places to start.
- Use translations of news stories from your country:
- World News Connection is a translation service from the Central Intelligence Agency.
- Locate Speeches and Debates in the United Nations on your topic.
