Getting Started
The Pennsylvania State University Libraries collect many materials related to the study and teaching of Sociology. Among the items that can be found at the libraries are books, maps, journals, videos, and electronic resources.
The sociology collections reflect the focus of the Department of Sociology, with resources particularly concentrated in demography; family, life course, and aging; and stratification and social change.
In addition, the Libraries have resources related to faculty interests, such as: social theory, demography, collective behavior and social movements, environmental sociology, research methods, gender, immigration and internal migration, race, work and labor markets, poverty, technological hazards and disasters, urban sociology, religion, sociology of education, social psychology, public policy, health outcomes, comparative sociology, public policy, marriage and divorce, mental health, organizational theory, children and youth, cultural studies, domestic violence, mass media processes, and program interventions and evaluation.
