Records management provides uniform, effective, and systematic control
over the creation, retention, disposition, and preservation of the
University's records.

The University's Records Management Program is governed by University
Policy AD-35.

Retention schedules with specific time periods for maintaining records
within the office environment are included in the General Forms
Usage Guide under Appendices 18 (General Records) and 21 (Financial
Records).

Records management is primarily concerned with those records that
are inactive that have legal, fiscal, adminstrative, research, or
historical value.

Archival preservation of records with permanent retention requirements
is provided by the University Archives.

Confidential records are identified and their disposition clearly
specified.

All records created prior to 1965 MUST be reviewed by University
Archives.
