U.S. Geological Survey Fact Sheets

The numbering in the call number for U.S. Geological Survey Fact Sheets is structured as [year]-[number], but the items are published with [number]-[year] or [year]-[number].

Example:

Item: FS-161-96
Call Number: QE75.F33 FS-96-133

Item: FS-95-122
Call Number: QE75.F33 FS-95-122

While Social Sciences sends a number of publications to be cataloged for EMS which are essentially a single sheet (or two) folded to 81/2 x 11 size, the items in the Fact Sheet (Geological Survey (U.S.)) series are to be marked "as is" with the barcode applied directly to them. All other similarly looking publications should be placed into envelopes, which should then be barcoded and marked. The green binding slips do not always get placed into these materials, so if you see an item which falls into this category and it is not a Fact Sheet (Geological Survey (U.S.)), and it lacks a binding slip, you should question it.
