- 245 General Information This field contains the title and statement of responsibility.
- Processing Instructions Accept as found on copy unless copy is obviously wrong.
Do not capitalize the first word after an initial article when the title is the main entry (obsolete practice). Accept copy as found.
LC CIP:
The title and the statement of responsibility on an item often change after the CIP record has been created. Add or delete information as necessary to make the 245 match the item exactly. When the main entry changes, check the indicators in the 245. If you suspect that the cutter needs to be adjusted after a change of main entry, refer as necessary.
