Products Generated by CatMarking for CCL Material
Item in hand
- For book in hand processing, CatMarking produces and affixes
all labels, applies a security strip or checkpoint and ownerships the item.

Binding and mending
- The binding and mending of campus materials is done locally
by the campus. If binding or mending destroys the barcode number
or changes the total number of physical items, notify Cataloging
using the appropriate CCL
Label Request Form. Cataloging does not need to be notified
when periodical issues are bound unless there is a change needed
in the online holdings statement. Additional labels, including
barcodes, may be requested through use of the CCL Label Request
form.
Items received at University Park that require binding are
sent to the Preservation/Binding
Team after cataloging has been completed.

Application of labels
- It is important that spine labels and barcode labels be applied
to items. These labels will come to the campus library as a result
of cataloging of surrogates, label requests, and accompanying
non-book materials. Please be sure that the barcode labels and
spine labels are applied to the correct item as displayed in The
CAT. Placement of the labels is defined by local practice.
